MySecretFolder

If you are not the only user of a computer, your personal data can never be safe from prying eyes. No matter where you store it or how you hide it, it can still be found. With MySecretFolder, this will not be an issue anymore. You can use it to hide any folder or protect it with a password. It features a straightforward interface and, as long as the program is running in the background, your information will be secure.

You can try MySecretFolder, free of charge, for 30 days, after which you must buy a license. The installation package is only 1.37 Mb large, so it can be downloaded even with a slow Internet connection. The software is part of a larger suite, developed by WinAbility Software. Like its counterparts, when you install it, you will have to be connected to the Internet.

A folder can be protected right away with the options found on the main area of the interface. You only have to browse for a folder on the upper part and click the Protect button on the bottom of the window. Before clicking it, you can opt to protect it with a password or hide it. If you choose to hide it, the folder will be impossible to find even with the "show hidden folders" option enabled in Windows Explorer.

When launching the program for the first time, you will have to set a master password. MySecretFolder will run in stealth mode, meaning that its interface can only be restored with the right hot key and it will only be accessible if you provide the correct password. The same master password will be applied to protected folders, but you can specify a different one for them. The Passwords section on the interface will be displayed after clicking the designated button on the left edge of the interface. Here you can change the master password or set a different one for unlocking folders. Other settings, like changing the hot key, adding lock/unlock commands to the shortcut menu and more can be found in the Options section and they can be activated via check boxes.
